The Daily Word of Righteousness
A Basic Concept, #3
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:22)
The Tabernacle of God is the holy city, the new Jerusalem, the glorified Church of Christ. It will be brought to perfection in Heaven above. After the thousand-year Kingdom Age, the glorified Church will descend from Heaven through the new sky to be established forever on the new earth. This is in accordance with the proclamations of the Hebrew Prophets.
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. (Isaiah 65:17,18)
Notice above that the "tabernacle of God is with men" (Revelation 21:3). As we have stated, the tabernacle of God is the glorified Church. The men are the saved peoples of the earth, who are the inheritance of Christ—Head and Body. They are the nations of the saved.
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. (Revelation 21:24)
The glorified Church, the Wife of the Lamb, is destined to be on the earth forever so that God through Christ through the saints may be able to minister to the nations of the saved.
Notice the following:
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. (Isaiah 2:2)
The "last days" as referred to here may be thought of as the thousand-year Kingdom Age, or possibly the new heaven and earth reign of Christ. It does not seem likely that the passage is referring to a time previous to this.
The "mountain of the Lord's house" is Mount Zion. Mount Zion, out from which will come the moral law of God to the whole earth, is the Church of Christ.
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, (Hebrews 12:22)
"All nations shall flow unto it."
It is obvious that the nations that "shall flow unto it" are saved nations. Here we have portrayed the rulership of Christ and His elect from Jerusalem, and the nations of the saved volunteering to go up to Jerusalem to learn the ways of God.
And the Gentiles [nations] shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. (Isaiah 60:3)
The nations of saved peoples of the earth will come to the light of the Spirit of God as soon as that light is given to the Lord's elect. The stupendous outpouring of grace portrayed in Isaiah, Chapter 60 will take place when "the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people." This may occur at the closing of the present age and the opening of the next.
Isaiah, Chapter 60 describes a glorified elect becoming the center of interest of earth's saved peoples.
To be continued.
