The Daily Word of Righteousness
A Basic Concept, #2
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (John 17:21)
"That the world may believe."
Compare:
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles [nations] shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. (Isaiah 60:2,3)
The revival indicated by the above two passages will result in the salvation of multitudes of earth's peoples. Another passage pointing toward the flowing of the living water of eternal life from the mature saints is as follows:
And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh. (Ezekiel 47:9)
The greatest revival of all is ahead of us. This future revelation of God's saving power is awaiting the coming to maturity of the saints.
God's people for so long have been ignorant of the fact that there will be people who are saved but who are not part of the Church, of the Israel of God, that we will point out some of the pertinent passages. It is impossible to understand the Kingdom of God, in fact, the significance of an elect , a church, or the purpose of the elect, until one is clear as to the difference between the Church and the nations of the saved.
Abraham and Sarah were promised a son. After the son came, God required of Abraham that he slay the son of promise. Because of the extraordinary obedience of faithful Abraham, God made some additional promises to him. One of these promises reveals God's intention to bless the nations through Abraham's Seed, the Seed being Christ and those who belong to and are part of Christ.
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:18)
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)
The promise is that all the nations will be blessed through the promised Seed.
"And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed."
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3)
"The tabernacle of God is with men."
The "tabernacle of God" is the Church, the Lamb's Wife, new Jerusalem, the eternal house of God.
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. (Revelation 21:9)
To be continued.
