The Daily Word of Righteousness
Spiritual Forces of the Last Days, #40
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
The Lord Jesus stands outside the door of the hearts of the Christians in Laodicea. They are filled with material goods and are cared for by a seemingly benevolent government. They are in love with love and with one another but it is soulish love. They speak endlessly about love and how they desire to help mankind. They do not see their need of the virtue and power of the Lord. Many of them are doctrinally "correct" (more or less) and rejoice in their fundamentalism of belief.
The Lord stands at the door and knocks!
Here and there is an individual in the church of the Laodiceans who hears the voice of the Bridegroom. He opens the door of his heart and the Lord enters. Then the heavenly romance begins. The Lord spreads a table for His beloved. His banner over him or her is love. The Song of Solomon is lived once again in a human being. Antichrist, the False Prophet, and Babylon offer their sensuous pleasures in vain. The Lord alone is worshiped in the throne room of the person.
To the Bride is given one of the greatest of all promises:
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (Revelation 3:21)
The Throne of the Father is the Heart of Jesus. The throne of Jesus is the heart of the believer in Laodicea who removes himself or herself from the clamor of Antichrist, the False Prophet, and Babylon, and finds rest in the love and will of Jesus.
There is a throne room in every human being. This room is made for the Father and the Son. Until God and Christ are seated on the throne of a person he dwells in confusion and pain.
There is a place for us also on the throne that is in us. But we are not allowed to sit there with the Father and the Son until we overcome our love for the Antichrist world system, the lusts of our flesh, and the self-love and rebellion that are an integral part of our personality.
Notice that the two verses go together and refer to the same Kingdom attainment:
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (Revelation 3:20,21)
From the apathy of Laodicea to the seat of the authority and power that control the creation! Many that are last in time shall be first in the Kingdom. The last days present the greatest of opportunities and the greatest of dangers to the people living in that hour.
To be continued.
