The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Heavenly Jerusalem, #29

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. (Hebrews 3:18,19)

Any Christian can become an overcomer. If we will keep on asking God to fill us with Christ, with the Overcomer, we slowly but surely will overcome every enemy, every problem, including our own lusts and self-will. We will be victorious. We will enter the inheritance, the rest of God.

The final enemy of the saint is his unbelief. If the disciple will continue to believe and obey God, there is no force in Heaven or on the earth that can in any manner harm him as he presses forward in Christ.

Every day of our life on earth the battle is joined. Every day of our life on earth we either are gaining the victory through faith in Christ, or we are being overcome by our fleshly lusts, by the pressures of the worldly people around us, Satan, or our self-seeking and self-love.

If you are being overcome today, ask Christ to fill you with His overcoming Life. He shall help you. He has overcome the world. If you ask Him to, He will make you a conqueror. Keep on asking. Never give up. The Lord God will take delight in you if you will keep on believing and pressing forward in faith.

". . . shall inherit all things, . . . ."

This promise truly is incomprehensible. Perhaps even the new heaven and new earth may not place a limitation on its dimensions. When the Lord God says "all things" He means all things.

God is greater than we understand. Christ is greater than we understand. The Holy Spirit is greater than we understand.

We human beings appear to be wearing blinders. We look at the starry heavens but we cannot "see" them. Somehow we cannot grasp the fact that Christ is so incredibly tremendous in strength and size He was able to speak the universe into existence.

We declare that Christ made all things and that God knows all things from the creation of the world. God knows every sparrow that falls to the ground and the number of the hairs on our head.

We cannot put two and two together, in our puny brains, and make four. We are so clouded in our thinking we are not able to reason that if Christ spoke the heaven and earth into existence, His wisdom and strength must extend from eternity to eternity and infinity to infinity. We cannot grasp the concept that Christ's appearance to us as an ordinary human being was in order to accomplish our redemption. He is a Man and a Human Being. He is whatever He chooses to become.

One wonders to what extent we have been born again. Perhaps we have been conceived in the womb and now are as an embryo or a fetus that will develop over the next few thousand years. No doubt we are being born again.

We know of the grandeur of the Kingdom of God, and yet we do not know it because it is so far beyond our power of imagination.

To be continued.
