The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Heavenly Jerusalem, #24
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (II Corinthians 5:17,18)
How about you? Are you still the same person? Yes, and no. You are becoming an new person in Christ and yet you still are you. Essentially, you are you. Old things are passing away in your life. All things are becoming new and all things are of God. But you are you.
The world in which we live is a real world, not just an idea as some philosophers have taught. Joy is real. Pain is real. Sin is real. God and Christ are real. Christ has come in the flesh.
God has created real people in a real world, and He has created them for eternity. Each individual will live for eternity in the Presence of God and the Lamb if he will allow God to graft Christ on his personality. Apart from Christ he will exist for eternity in the spiritual torment and death prepared for wicked spirits.
Heaven is real and Hell is real, and they are eternal. The spirits of people are real and they are eternal. The spirits of people will reside eternally in the glorious new world that God is forming, or they will remain in the dark fires, separated eternally from their Creator.
Each person who has received Christ and is walking in Christ is heading toward joy and glory. Each person who rejects Christ is rejecting the purpose for his or her existence. He will be cast into the area of eternal separation from God that is prepared for the devil and his angels.
The Lord God of Heaven has determined to center the creation in Christ. Any person who rejects Christ is rejecting his Creator and will suffer the consequences of that rejection.
"I make all things new." Not one element of the creation will remain untouched. All things will experience death and resurrection. What is unworthy of eternal life will be assigned to torment. What is worthy of eternal life will be centered in Christ and will reveal Christ to a greater or lesser extent.
". . . He said unto me, write: for these words are true and faithful."
The Book of Revelation is not to be changed in any manner whatever. No other book of the Scriptures contains in itself such exhortations and warnings concerning its contents.
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3)
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. (Revelation 22:7)
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the book of life, and from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18,19)
To be continued.
