The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Inner Kingdom, #13
And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. (Revelation 2:26-28)
Elevation to the Throne of God and rulership over the nations are associated with suffering and with the Day Star. The rule of God in Christ is the rule of Divine love. It is only as sin and self-centeredness are destroyed out of us, and Christ, the only true Day Star, ascends to the throne of our heart, that it is possible for us to sit with Christ in His throne.
The love of God in Christ grows in us until our salvation truly becomes a romance. Now we understand the Song of Solomon. While the daughters of Jerusalem are busy with the affairs of King Solomon (who represents the church hierarchy, culture, and activities), the true Bride is hearing the voice of her Shepherd. He is calling her away to be with Himself.
The "daughters of Jerusalem" and the officials of the churches seek to know and understand the Bride. But the Lord always will prevent them from awakening her "until she pleases." She is the one whom the Lord desires. He will not allow her to be spoiled by the self-serving institutional churches.
There are numerous "queens and concubines." But the Bride is one. She is the only one of her mother.
It is so like the Lord that the throne of power should be offered to the saints who overcome the errors of the Laodiceans.
Laodicea represents the finest experience that Satan and self-centered man can develop by working together. Laodicea will bring into existence the kind of man-centered Christianity that has been desired by ambitious religious people of all ages. And this in a world of apparent peace and safety!
But the true members of the Bride will refuse the new age of worldly Christianity. They have been called out from the world by the Lord. There is a holy discontent in them. They enter the "secret place of the stairs" and climb faithfully, patiently upward while others rejoice in the accomplishments at hand.
Such always has been true of the Lord's elect. They are an enigma, and a thorn in the side of the majority of Israel.
The second and third chapters of the Book of Revelation are a love letter from Jesus to the Bride, and only the Bride can hear what is being said and understand it.
Love conquers all and rules over all. Love will draw the true Bride upward to the throne of all authority and power. The victorious saints care not for power but for the love of Jesus. This is why God will permit only them to rule the nations of the earth.
To be continued.
