The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Inner Kingdom, #8
But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. (Hebrews 2:6-8)
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (Revelation 3:21)
We see, therefore, that both Revelation and Hebrews emphasize that man, by Divine declaration, has been appointed to govern all the works of God's hands.
Whatever other kinds of creatures there may be in the universe, man is to be the ruler over them.
Christ is on the supreme throne and His younger brothers are called to that throne. Jesus had to overcome the obstacles placed before Him and now He is seated on the high throne. We also through Him are to overcome every enemy and then to rise to be seated with Him on His throne.
In the present hour the Throne of God is in Heaven. In fact, Heaven is the Throne of God (Acts 7:49).
But the Throne of God is to be established forever in the new Jerusalem.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: (Revelation 22:3)
The new Jerusalem is the Church, the Wife of the Lamb. The establishing of the Throne of God and of the Lamb in the new Jerusalem means that God's throne is to be created in the personalities of the members of the Body of Christ.
Man is bound by so many chains today it is difficult to grasp the fact that it is man who has been chosen of God to rule all the works of God's hands.
It is worthy of note that it is during the Laodicean age, the period when man is attempting to become the center of the universe, that God reveals His intention for man to become the ruler of the universe. The difference between the Laodicean presumption and the Divine declaration is that it is given to man to rule only as man is filled with Christ and is an eternal part of Christ. This is the essential difference.
God never will give His glory to another. Man becomes lord of the universe only as man becomes a branch of Christ, who is the only rightful King and Lord.
In Jesus we are the heirs of all things. Out of Jesus we are the dust of the ground and have no eternal life.
It is not a coincidence that Revelation 3:20 and 3:21 are placed together in the Scriptures. When the Lord Jesus enters us the Throne of God enters us.
Revelation 3:20 speaks of our opening the door of our personality and inviting the King, Jesus, to enter us and abide with us, just as the two disciples on the way to Emmaus invited Him to be with them and dine with them (Luke 24:29).
To be continued.
