The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Inner Kingdom, #3
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:23)
Notice (above) how diligence in adhering to the Word of Christ leads us into the second dimension, into the inner work of the Kingdom.
The entering of the Father and the Son into us, in the spiritual fulfillment of the Old Testament feast of Tabernacles, depends on our faithfulness in keeping the Words, the commandments of Christ.
Peter states the same thing:
We have also a more sure word of prophecy [the Scriptures]; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: (II Peter 1:19)
The "more sure word of prophecy" is the written Word of God, both Old Testament and New Testament. We are to read the Word and take heed to its admonitions. Although we are not under the Law of Moses there are many admonitions and inspiring passages in the Old Testament that are as applicable today as they were twenty-five hundred years ago.
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to practice righteousness, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6:8)
After we are saved we are to meditate in the Word of God day and night, waiting on the Lord constantly in order that we may begin to be able to conform to His Word and will.
If we are consistent in our pursuit of the Lord, the day will arrive when we hear the voice of the Lord. The Lord Jesus is seeking a full entrance into our personality. He enters us bringing the Father with Him.
Now we begin to understand the new covenant. The keeping of the written Word has served as a scaffolding until the new creation in us, the inner Kingdom of God, has had the opportunity to mature to the point we can begin to partake of its glory.
The Kingdom of God is in us. The Kingdom enters us when we are born again. But because the Kingdom of God begins as a Seed, our life goes on much as before. The keeping of the Lord's commandments, as found in the New Testament, holds us in line until the Divine Seed matures to the level we can notice the new Divine Life in us.
As Peter says, we are to take heed to the written "prophecy" until the day dawns and the Day Star arises in our heart.
That "day" is the Day of the Lord. It is the coming of the Kingdom of God, the doing of God's will in the earth as it is in Heaven. It is the Day when the Lord alone is exalted. It is the Day when the wolf dwells with the lamb and the little child leads them. It is the Day when we can ask what we will and it shall be done for us.
The Day Star, Christ, arises in us. Before the Day of the Lord can come to the earth it first must dawn in the hearts of the saints. For it is through the saints that the Day of the Lord, the reign of Christ, will be brought to the earth. All the written commandments are intended to serve until the new creation comes forth in us.
To be continued.
