The Daily Word of Righteousness
Ye Shall Receive Power
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
The sounding of the seventh trumpet, the last trumpet, is described in the tenth and eleventh chapters of the Book of Revelation.
The seventh trumpet announces the closing of the present age and the completion of the mystery of God. The mystery of God is Christ in us, the forming of the Body of Christ, the eternal Temple of God.
The first resurrection from the dead, the resurrection of God's eternal witnesses, His kings and priests, the judges and rulers of the ages to come, will take place at the time of the seventh, or last, trumpet.
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (I Corinthians 15:52)
The preparatory events that accompany the sounding of the seventh trumpet commence in Revelation 10:1 while the climactic sounding is found in 11:15. The beginning of the sounding:
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. (Revelation 10:7)
The climax of the sounding:
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 11:15)
The Apostle John was commanded to eat the "little book":
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. (Revelation 10:8)
These are the days when we are commanded to eat the Word of God, particularly the Word being given in the present hour.
It is necessary we continue to study and meditate in the Holy Scriptures. The study of the Scriptures is a most important aspect of the Christian discipleship.
But in order to bear witness of God we must cooperate with the Holy Spirit until the Word of God is written in our bones, our flesh, our will, our imaginations. The Holy Spirit is creating us the living Word.
It is a little scroll because the work that God will do in the last days will not be "big" or pretentious in the sight of man. Today great men and great buildings are exalted. The exaltation of people and buildings is past for the true saints of God. We are to learn that Christ is found in the manger. We are not to despise the day of "small things."
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth. (Zechariah 4:10)
