The Daily Word of Righteousness
You Are My People, #23
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)
Every True New-covenant Saint Is the Seed of Abraham
The promise of the Holy Spirit, the holy anointing of the royal priesthood, is given to the Seed of Abraham. That Seed is Christ and only Christ. The Seed is singular.
It is only as the Jew receives his Christ that he can partake of the new covenant, of the priestly anointing. God has graciously granted that a predetermined number of Gentiles may be included in Christ, in the Divine blessing and covenant.
The fact that God has included a specific number of Gentiles in Christ does not suggest in any manner that the Jew is excluded or that the Kingdom of God is now a Gentile religion.
From Abraham came Isaac and Jacob. From Jacob came the tribes of Israel. The Gospel was given to Abraham and to the Seed of Abraham. The prophetic anointing rested on Abraham, on Isaac, and on Jacob, and God is called by their names. "I am the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob."
The prophetic anointing passed to the priests and prophets of Israel, and at the beginning of the present era was extended to chosen Gentiles.
The root is Abraham and from that root has proceeded all that truly is of the Divine salvation. To view the Gospel of Christ as a Gentile religion denies its root and its nature. To relegate the land and people of Israel to a secondary role in the Kingdom of God is unscriptural and illogical. The Gospel of the Kingdom is the "children's bread" and Gentiles are invited as guests.
Notice the prophecy of Caiaphas, the High Priest of Israel in the days of Jesus:
. . . Ye know nothing at all, nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. (John 11:49-52)
In the above, we see that the emphasis is on Israel but includes the elect Gentiles "that were scattered abroad."
