The Daily Word of Righteousness
Revelation 11:19, continued
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6)
The principal service of the "Ark" company, to give them a name, is war and judgment. They find a militancy entering their spirit. They are preparing themselves for the wars of the Lord.
Sometimes the "Gibeon" company regards the talk about Joel's army as so much foolishness. They feel no call to judgment and war but are quite happy in their assemblings and ministries.
God has not called us to judge one another. Let each of us put his own brick in the wall as he is able without tearing out his neighbor's brick. This attitude will please the Lord.
If you have read thus far you may be called to be one of those who is being prepared to bring all the enemies of Christ under His feet. Do you have a cry in your heart for war and judgment? Can you hear the drums of El Shaddai?
When we first started to preach like this many years ago there were a few who could understand, but not many. Now it seems there is a new wind blowing across America. God's ministers are starting to talk about repentance and righteousness. There is a new hunger that is not satisfied with church business as usual. These people want God!
Are you one of these? Do you hunger for God? Are you willing to confess your sins and turn away from them? Or do you feel as so many do that it is not possible a Christian could have sin in his personality? Or if he does, he is so covered with Christ's righteousness that repentance is neither necessary nor even logical. Of what are we to repent if we are covered with Christ's righteousness?
A while ago there were strong Christian leaders who said it was impossible for a Christian to have a demon. How can one be a born-again Christian and have a demon? I thought at the time, "Okay, so you don't have a demon. Then why are you acting like you have one?"
I think God is more interested in righteous behavior than He is in theological hair-splitting. If you don't have a demon then quit acting like you do. It is just that simple.
I asked a brother a few days ago, a man well grounded in the Word, "If you are covered with Christ's own righteousness of what can you repent?" Probably most sincere Christians can see the need for repentance in the churches of America. It seems the Spirit of God is emphasizing to us that if we do not repent and start keeping Christ's commandments we are in for serious trouble.
The good brother and friend did not answer me but I think I started him thinking.
I would like to get all Christians thinking. If we are covered with Christ's righteousness then of what can we possibly repent? Wouldn't we already have perfect righteousness?
But when we are sensitive to the Spirit we know that God is calling us to repent, to turn away from our worldliness, lust, and disobedience.
Now we have a dilemma. Either our understanding of grace is wrong or God is not calling us to repentance or God doesn't know what He is doing.
To be continued.
