The Daily Word of Righteousness
Two Beginnings, #9
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. (Psalms 110:1)
The Logos, Christ, the Servant of the Lord, the Son of God, has been lifted far above every other rulership and power, not only in the present creation but also in that which is to come.
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: (Ephesians 1:20,21)
And we with Him and in Him.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ: (Ephesians 2:6)
The Logos, the Anointed One, the Son of God, has been raised to the right hand of God. There He shall wait until the Father makes all of His (and our) enemies His footstool, the enemies being the angelic beings who are envious of what the Father has given to Christ.
Every knee shall bow.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
Then the passage that the Lord Jesus read to the synagogue in Nazareth:
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isaiah 61:1)
And His affirmation concerning Himself:
And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. (Luke 4:21)
The Logos, the Son of God, declares Himself to be Christ—the Anointed One chosen to set Israel free from the bondages of the wicked.
But first He must be the sin-offering.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
The Lord Jesus knew He was to be the sin-offering; but when it came time to drink the cup even the mighty Son of God recoiled as He saw the abominable horrid filth that was to be poured on His pure Spirit, a horrid filth that is beginning to fill the wealthy nations of our day.
The fallen lords of the heavens had reason to tremble when they read that God had given to Adam and Eve dominion over the earth. Just as they feared, the dominion was extended to include dominion over all the works of God's hands.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: (Psalms 8:6)
It is man who is destined to accomplish God's eternal purpose by governing the creation of God.
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. (Hebrews 2:8)
To be continued.
