The Daily Word of Righteousness
Two Beginnings, #7
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. (Revelation 21:5)
The concept of resurrection is that of making all things new, of bringing the creatures and things of the first, corrupted creation into Christ-filled life of the new creation. To be "saved" is to be made part of the new creation. All who receive Christ will be made part of the new creation, the new world. All who reject Christ will not be allowed to be part of the new creation. We must be counted worthy if we are to enter the new world.
But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. (Luke 20:35,36)
The original sin was disobedience. Adam and Eve were disobedient. Just as self-will transformed many of the brightest angels of the heavens into depraved monsters, so it is true that self-will has changed the creatures made in God's image into depraved monsters.
There is only one legitimate will in the universe, the will of the Father. Until we find rest in that one will we are rebels against the Father.
Before Abraham could be the father of all who believe he had to be tested severely in the realm of obedience.
Before Christ could receive all authority in Heaven and upon the earth He had to be tested severely in the realm of obedience to the Father.
Until any son of God can be trusted to sit on the throne of glory with Christ he must be tested severely in the realm of obedience to the Father.
The original sin, the sin that began around the throne of God in Heaven, was disobedience to the Father's will. The Kingdom shall not be completely established in the earth until the will of the Father is done in the earth as it is done in the heavens.
It is the will, the rule of the Father that is the principal concern of the Christian redemption and the Kingdom of God.
The Father gives brief revelations of His eternal purpose. The first aspect of the eternal purpose of God is to make the Logos the Center of a new creation.
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: (Ephesians 1:10)
How the heart of the Boy of Nazareth must have burned as He read in the Scriptures the revelation of God's great plan and purpose concerning Himself—the Logos.
How the rebellious angels must have gnashed their teeth in fury, being filled with envy. It was the envy of Satan that caused the Jews to murder their Christ. It is the envy of Satan that causes some Christians to this day to despise the Jews and persecute them in every manner.
Absalom, the son of David, is a picture of Satan. He was an unblemished person just as Satan was unblemished. But then iniquity was found in Absalom. Because of envy he sought to murder his own father and seize the throne for himself.
For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. (Mark 15:10)
Religious envy, the envy of Satan, has played a very large role in the history of Judaism and the Christian churches.
To be continued.
