The Daily Word of Righteousness
Joel's Army, continued
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:14)
When the Lord deals with you in judgment be quick to confess your sins and diligent in renouncing them. Renounce them with all the strength you have and the Spirit of God will forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
We are being judged today. Christ is appearing to remove our sins. It is the redemption spoken of in Ephesians. It is the promised salvation that has been reserved for the last days.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (Romans 13:11)
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (Ephesians 4:30)
So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:28—NIV)
Who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (I Peter 1:5—NIV)
If we consent to the purging of our sins we will ride with Christ in the Day of the Lord. If we continue in our sin and carnality we will be dealt with by Christ and His saints when they appear.
At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale. (Joel 2:6—NIV)
All faces will turn pale with fear and conviction when the Lord appears with His army of judges. Fearfulness will surprise the hypocrites in Zion. Terror will grip all the wicked of mankind. Sinners will writhe in anguish. Those who today are destroying the earth with their love of money, their violence, their self-seeking, will cry for the mountains and rocks to cover them so the Lamb cannot see them.
The Lamb shall indeed see them because His eyes are furnaces of fire.
The truly righteous, the meek of the earth, will leap for joy in the Day of the Lord. But the sinners in the churches and in the world will be in unbearable torment, gnashing their teeth in anguish.
Today an unconditional grace, an eternal imputation of righteousness, is being preached in the Evangelical churches. This abstract "grace" is not affected by our behavior. It would be difficult to find a teaching better designed to leave us unprepared for the Day of the Lord.
Grace will not save us in the Day of Christ. There is no biblical basis for the belief that grace will save us in the Day of Christ.
Paul delivered a believer to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, a very painful process, the purpose being that his spirit might be saved in the Day of the Lord. If it were true that grace saves us in the Day of the Lord independently of our behavior, then Paul would not hand over a Christian to Satan that his flesh might be destroyed. Isn't this true?
