The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Seed and the Nations of the Saved, #7
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not changed into this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1,2)
Each individual on the earth is obligated to respond to God's will for his life. If we are called to be a saint, a king and priest of God, a member of Christ's Body, we cannot complain because God deals endlessly with us. We cannot look at a "Lot" and complain that he is not going through the same ordeals as we.
The "Lots" will be saved if they are willing to flee from the city of sin, but the "Abrahams" are required to surrender their "Isaacs" to God. They are to do so obediently, faithfully, and in the fear of God.
Each member of the Divine Seed has been called to inherit the fullness of God and to be a blessing to the nations of the earth. Each member of the Divine Seed is required to present his body a living sacrifice to God so God's will may be accomplished perfectly and completely in his life. Nothing short of total, utter consecration is acceptable when one has been called to be a member of the Wife of the Lamb.
The Promises to the Seed
The Divine promises to the Seed began with the word given to Abraham in the twelfth chapter of Genesis and continue through to the last chapter of the Book of Revelation. The Spirit of Christ spoke to the elect through the Prophet Isaiah:
But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. (Isaiah 41:8,9)
Compare:
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: (I Corinthians 1:26)
This does not mean the "chief men," the "wise men after the flesh," are necessarily lost—doomed to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. The goodness or wickedness of the chief men is not at issue here just as the goodness or wickedness of Ur was not in question when Abraham was brought forth.
The Seed is God's eternal Servant. The Seed is called out from the peoples of the earth in order to reveal the Glory of God to the nations. If the nations obey the glory they behold, repenting and being baptized, they will be saved. When they resist the members of the Seed they are resisting Christ. When they resist Christ they are resisting God Almighty who sent Christ.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; (I Peter 2:9)
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. (Matthew 10:40-42)
