The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Glory of the Lord
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1)
The Water of Life, which is the Holy Spirit of God, always proceeds from the Throne of God and of the Lamb.
The Throne of God and of the Lamb is being created in the human heart. Heaven is God's throne. The earth is God's footstool. In order for God to be at rest, the footstool must be placed in front of the throne.
When the earthen, human heart becomes united eternally with Christ, who Himself is the eternal Throne of God, the throne and the footstool have been joined into one. God is at rest.
The new Jerusalem is the eternal union of the saints and Christ. Earth and Heaven have become one. The footstool has been brought before the throne. The green of earth and the blue of Heaven radiate the light in which the nations of the saved walk.
What did Jesus proclaim as the priest of Israel poured water from a golden vessel on the bronze Altar of Burnt Offering (during the feast of Tabernacles)?
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38)
It always has been God's intention to fill the earth with His Spirit.
But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. (Numbers 14:21)
And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. (Psalms 72:19)
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. (Habakkuk 2:14)
The two sets of fifty rings positioned over the veil of the Tabernacle of the Congregation typify the double portion of the Spirit of God that will be poured out as we pass from the present age into the thousand-year Kingdom Age.
The members of the Body of Christ already possess a "firstfruits" of that which one day will cover the whole earth.
And not only they [the material creation], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. (Romans 8:23)
The promise of the Spirit of God was given as part of the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:14).
The Glory of God was revealed in the burning bush, and then on Sinai, followed by the anointing on the prophets of Israel.
Christ possesses the Spirit of God without measure. The Spirit came as a Dove and rested on Him.
After that, the Holy Spirit was given by Christ to the disciples assembled in the upper room. This took place in fulfillment of the promise made by Christ:
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (John 14:16)
The Holy Spirit has been given at intervals throughout Church history. The revival in Wales, and also the Pentecostal revival of Azusa Street in Los Angeles, California, are notable examples of the giving of God's Spirit.
