The Daily Word of Righteousness
One Salvation, #3
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 9:4,5)
The Levitical priesthood, the ordinances of the Tabernacle, the dietary statutes, have points in common with the religions of the world. The difference is, each aspect of biblical Judaism was given by the Lord in detail. No part was left to man to devise.
No other faith, including Christianity, has received such precise Divine instructions concerning a priesthood, a plan for a building, and dietary regulations.
The Torah came from God. It is Divine revelation. First, the Torah was written on tables of stone; later in greatly enlarged form on the human heart.
The religions of the world fight against each other because they come from the evil heart of man. The religionist of Judaism fights against the religionist of Christianity. The Moslem struggles against the Hindu. All is vanity. All is wickedness. The struggle, the hatred, are not blessed by the God of Heaven.
Biblical Judaism is unique. Although the unbelief and hardness of heart of men has changed Judaism from a revelation of God to a religion operated by scholars, the land and people of Israel belong to God in a manner true of no other land and people.
The Messianic revelation began with Abraham. The Olive Tree, the Spirit of Christ, has continued with a remnant of Jews and a remnant of Gentiles. When the era of the Gentile elect has ended, the Olive Tree will be given back to the people and land of Israel. At that time Christ will return and establish His throne in Jerusalem.
When the Holy Spirit fell on the Day of Pentecost, a number of Jews believed that God had made Jesus of Nazareth both Lord and Christ. They were the first Body of Christ. Then the Spirit led the Jewish Apostles to seek the elect among the Gentiles.
Because of the sinfulness of man, the early Christian churches began to change from a revelation of the Spirit to an organized religion. Human nature was in control. The human religious impulse decided that the Jews, accused of murdering Christ, were not part of the Church. (How ironic in that the Jews were the first members of the Body of Christ!)
As the centuries progressed, Christianity became established as one of the major Gentile religions of the world (not one of the revelations of God).
Judaism (when it is dominated by the human personality), Christianity, and all other organized religions are Babylon—the attempt of man to find God, please God, define God, and then control God.
In the days in which we are living, the False Prophet (the spirit of religious delusion) will overpower multitudes of people, including the majority of professing Christians. The mammoth "Christian" organization of the end time, Babylon the great, will make its headquarters "in the land of Shinar," on the Euphrates, at the original site of the tower of Babylon.
And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base. (Zechariah 5:11)
