The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Kingdom of God Is at Hand, #39
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. (Romans 7:4)
Each of God's elect is being formed very carefully. The reason for such extreme care is that the called individual is the forerunner of a multitude of righteous children of God.
As Abraham's offspring are so great in number as to be inconceivable, so will it be true of each saint who is willing to submit to the prolonged pruning of the Lord that his fruit will be beyond his ability to imagine at this time.
The marriage of Christ and the saint takes place. From this union flows the multitude of children of God of which we are speaking. It is apparent, then, that the six or seven thousand years of the history of mankind on the earth are but the briefest prelude to the fullness of fruitfulness the Father has in mind.
The Lord Jesus Christ must become the Center of all the creation. He will be as His Life is brought forth in and then through His saints.
Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles (wealth of the nations) shall come unto thee. (Isaiah 60:4,5)
All such promises are directed toward our Lord Jesus and worked out through the saints. They speak of His inheritance, and we are coheirs with Him if we are part of Him.
Christ owns every person on the earth. As God directs Him, He gives eternal life to individuals. He is born in them. They reveal His image in themselves. In this way He is multiplied.
The enlarging of Christ will continue during the thousand-year period and no doubt throughout eternity. It will take place through us. A vine does not bear fruit. It is the branches that bear the fruit. Christ is the eternal Vine of God. It is we who are the branches, if we truly are abiding in Him and He in us. The fruit will be borne through us. Christ will be enlarged through us.
Those who are in the image of God, who are in union with God, and who are bearing the fruit of Christ in their personalities, are pressing forward toward rulership of such authority, power, and glory the human mind is not able to grasp its scope. The authority will be expressed during the ministry of the two witnesses, and then will be enlarged during the day of image and union. The reason we must be brought so low in the present world is that we are to be raised so high in the coming age.
To be continued.
