The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Day of Christ, #22
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. (Isaiah 42:1)
All of us will ascend together to meet Him in the air so the whole Christ, Head and Body, can commence the work of the Servant of the Lord.
The fact that the Lord's army will meet Christ in the air at His coming will place Antichrist and his armies, who are confined to the earth, at a great military disadvantage.
The meeting in the air will be no place for weak, lukewarm professors of Christ. This is the gathering into one disciplined army of the true saints of the Lord, Christ's conquerors, His mighty men. Each of these saints has been called, chosen, and proven faithful under the most exacting testings. The least among them is as David. One can put a thousand to flight; two, ten thousand.
The Day of Christ will not be a gala event even for the faithful. It will be a period of utmost gravity as the Lord God prepares to judge men and angels. It is the beginning of the pouring out of the vials of Divine wrath on the world.
The gala event, the joyous celebration, will take place after the battle.
"And so shall we ever be with the Lord." It is the desire of Christ's heart that His beloved saints be with Him always. No word of ours could possibly describe the intensity of the love Christ has for His Body, His Bride.
She never will be removed from His side—not for an eternity of eternities.
When the youngest of the new stars has grown old and decrepit with age and has fallen into the ocean of eternity, the love of Christ for His Bride and His faithfulness toward her will just be beginning.
Christ has waited patiently such a long time for this union to take place! Never again will He be required to be without His predestined Wife.
We may play various roles in the ages to come and we may perform many different tasks, as we serve the Father and behold His countenance. But one fact is certain—we shall be with the Lord Jesus all the while.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (I Thessalonians 4:18)
We Christians do not weep in anguish concerning our loved ones who go to be with the Lord. We know that they and we will enter the Kingdom of God at the same time through means of the resurrection from the dead. We will see them again and never again will be separated from them by death.
But of the times and the seasons, brothers, ye have no need that I write unto you. (I Thessalonians 5:1)
"The times and the seasons." These are the two Greek terms used in Acts 3:19 and 21. The plurality of these words reminds us that the Day of the Lord is a complex event. It is well for us to remember that the Prophets and the Apostles have sketched out only the outline of the Day of Christ.
Even when we put together all that the Scriptures state concerning the Day of Christ, some questions remain unanswered. We shall have to wait until the several aspects take place before we are able to comprehend the complete picture.
To be continued.
