The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Church and the World, #11
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment [justice] to the Gentiles [nations]. (Isaiah 42:1)
One of the principal themes of the Old Testament Prophets is the return of Christ to bring justice to the nations God has chosen.
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: That they [those people typified by the Tabernacle of David] may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen [nations], which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doeth this. (Amos 9:11,12)
"All the heathen [nations], which are called by my name."
The Tabernacle of David, which was the Ark of the Covenant separated from the Tabernacle of the Congregation and kept in a tent near Jerusalem, symbolizes the Presence and Glory of God that will be with the firstfruits of saints, with those who are pressing on to complete victory in the days in which we are living (Philippians 3:14).
The coheirs with Christ, those who suffer with Him, will receive the nations for their inheritance (Isaiah 53:12; Romans 8:17; Revelation 2:26).
One of the fundamental prophecies that governs the Church can be found in Genesis 22:15-18. Notice the relationship of Christ (and all who are part of Him) to the nations of the earth.
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:18)
"Shall all the nations of the earth be blessed."
The Divine Seed to whom all the promises have been made is the Lord Jesus Christ and those who are an integral, eternal part of Him.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)
Heirs of what? Heirs of the nations and of the farthest reaches of the earth.
For how long a time will the Church, the Seed of Abraham, govern and bless the nations of the saved?
Forever.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:7)
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 22:5)
How will the Lord God, who at that time will be dwelling in His Fullness in His holy ones in the spiritual fulfillment of the feast of Tabernacles, behave toward the nations of saved peoples of the earth?
And God shall wipe away all tears from their [the nations'] eyes; and there shall be no more death [among the nations of the saved], neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
What will be given to the believers who, through the grace of Christ, overcome the sins and pressures that afflict the members of the churches?
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. (Revelation 21:7)
