The Daily Word of Righteousness
The Reality of Crucifixion and Resurrection With Christ
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)
The time has come in the history of the Church for God's people to get hold of the fact that they actually have been crucified with Christ and actually have been raised from the dead and now are at the right hand of God in Christ, far above every other personage of consequence in the spirit realm.
We have to take these two positions by faith, that we have been crucified with Christ and have been raised with Christ to the right hand of God.
Much of our salvation has to be taken by faith and then made reality by as we continue with God.
We cannot see the body and blood of Christ, and yet we believe that we receive more than grape juice and crackers during the communion service.
We believe we have eternal life, yet we cannot see it.
We believe we have been justified through Christ's death and resurrection, yet we cannot see our justification.
We believe we are abiding under the wings of God, yet we cannot see them.
We believe we have been born again, yet many years may pass before we actually experience that life within us.
In short, we life by faith.
We must keep in mind, however, that the experiences and things we accept by faith God sees as reality. He sees us as justified. He knows we have eternal life. He feeds us with the body and blood of Christ. He watches over us with utmost care even though we cannot see Him.
These are all very real to God but to us they are invisible as yet. Some day we may see them all.
Back to our main subject. God sees us crucified. God sees us resurrected. God sees us ascended to His right hand. These are objects of faith to us but reality to God.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (Colossians 3:1)
Notice the tense of the verb. We already are risen with Christ.
When we are baptized in water we are stating that we have been crucified with Christ and have been raised with Christ. God then regards us in this manner. Our body has not been redeemed as yet but our inward nature has been raised from the dead and has ascended to the Father through Christ.
These experiences actually have taken place in the sight of God and this is how He regards us.
Until God regards us as dead we still are under the authority of the Law of Moses. The Law continues to exercise authority over us until we are dead.
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:6)
Again notice the tense of the verb. God has raised us up with Christ.
To be continued.
