The Daily Word of Righteousness
Revelation 11:8, continued
I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. (III John 1:9,10)
Death and Hell ride together. Death is the place for those who have loved the world more than God and have killed their spiritual life. Hell is the place of torment for the wicked, for the selfish, the cruel, the treacherous.
If you are an adulterer, when you die you will rush around trying to satisfy your burning desires until you can find a person to inhabit. Your tongue will be hanging out, your eyes bulging. You will be panting with unfulfilled passion until there is some human being who will permit you to express your depraved passions through them by molesting a child or raping someone. I gathered these thoughts from the visions of saints I respect; they are not found in the Scriptures. My personal opinion is that the visions of the wicked dead are right onùthey have the ring of truth to me. What you sow you reap!
If you are rich with material things and have not been generous with the poor, when you die you will be as Lazarusùtormented in the flames. You have killed your spiritual nature.
"But what if I have accepted Christ?" If you have accepted Christ He will help you change. If you do not change . . .
Lust is destroying the witness in America. The love of material things is destroying the witness in America.
The third monster is the worst of all. It is self-will. Self-will produces envy. It was envy that delivered Christ to Pilate and Pilate understood this. Christ was crucified in the city of envy.
It is our understanding that the earth-wide revival of the first half of the seventieth week will result in great multitudes (perhaps a majority) of earth's population becoming Christians, at least nominally. Every church will be filled to overflowing. Perhaps the largest churches of all time will come into existence. All will be well while the power of God is present.
But when the power of the witness lifts, human envy, jealousy, and personal ambition will begin to destroy the work of God. The leaders will strive for preeminence. Denominations will be formed. Churches will be split. Fellowships will be divided.
Self-willùthe curse of all curses!
The true saint is crucified with Christ. He lives by Christ. His personality is free from personal ambition, from envy, from jealousy.
The true saint will never strive against another Christian. The name Isaac means laughter, they say. Isaac could always laugh because he would not strive over his wells.
When two people are in conflict the more spiritual will give way. I do not mean by this that the more spiritual will sin or do something improper. The adamic nature is characterized by having to have its own way. The saint looks to the Lord and stays open before Him. He does not press his will on other people.
To be continued.
